Le Conte Lodge:
Few anglers, even those that are familiar with the park, are aware that there’s a lodge inside the park that you can arrange to stay in. It’s Le Conte Lodge. This website will tell you all about it. It sits on top of Mount Le Conte at 6,593 feet above sea level. Now we don’t suggest it for anglers or at least the average angler. We are mentioning it only for those that also enjoy hiking. You cannot drive there. They list three locations you can park and hike to the lodge from. It’s only about a 6.5 mile hike but it’s a climb of almost 4,000 feet in elevation.
Campgrounds:
The park offers several types of campgrounds. They have backcountry, frontcountry, group campgrounds, and horse camps that are available. The following is our comments and recommendations for some of these campgrounds and campsites.
