Flies Needed "Now" for Fishing the Smokies for Trout

These are the Insects and other food the trout may be eating and what you should be imitating. It
also
includes those insects that are getting close to hatching because those are the ones you
should be imitating with a nymph or larva.

1. Blue-winged Olives (random - mostly Little BWOs)
2. Giant Stoneflies - hatching
3. Eastern Pale Evening Duns - (called Sulfurs by some)
4. Cinnamon Sedges - Abrams Creek mostly
5. Little Sister Caddisflies - Mostly Abrams Creek
6. Midges (random)
7. Little Short-horned Sedges (heavy but random and isolated)
8. American March Browns - hatching/sparse/isolated
9. Light Cahills - hatching
10. Little Yellow Stoneflies - hatching
11. Streamers
12. Green Sedge - hatching randomly
13. Sulphurs - hatch in isolated areas
14. Golden Stoneflies - hatching
15. Little Green Stoneflies - hatching
16. Slate Drake Mayflies - hatching
