Insects and other foods the trout may be eating:
1.   Blue-winged Olives
2.   Little Black Winter Stoneflies
3.   Streamers - matching sculpin, baitfish and small crayfish
4.   Midges

The next insect of importance, #9, would be the grasshopper. Many anglers
probably rate this insect higher than I do for Great Smoky Mountains National Park,
but we are positive there are many more times the numbers of beetles and ants
than grasshoppers. I think most anglers go by the fly they prefer, not the insect and
many prefer the hopper flies to beetles and ants.
