Great Smoky Mountains Fishing Report - 01/07/14
Good morning. It is 2 degrees in Pigeon Forge this morning. The road in front of the
house is white this morning. I guess that means the City will be adding more salt. You
probably couldn't fish much of the park today if you wanted to. I'm  sure the roads are
probably covered with snow or ice.

Smoky Mountain Weather:
As mentioned above, it is currently 2 degrees. The high today will only go up to 17
with a low tonight of 10 degrees. Tomorrow will be sunny and reach 38 degrees.

Smoky Mountain Stream Conditions:
The streams with links have nearby USGS Station Real-time stream data:

Little River: Rate 379 cfs at 2.47 ft.
(good wading conditions up to 250 cfs, and with extra caution up to 400cfs)

Oconaluftee River: Rate 670 cfs at 2.10 ft.
(good wading conditions up to 500 cfs, and with extra caution up to 700 cfs)

Cataloochee Creek: 125 cfs at 2.70 ft
(good wading conditions up to 125 cfs, and with extra caution up to 150 cfs)

Little Pigeon River doesn't have a station nearby but it is back near normal.

Hazel Creek and the other larger NC streams flowing into Cherokee Lake: My guess
is they are about normal levels again.

Tips for the Self Proclaimed Experts:
If you haven't fished with one of these, you haven't used the best you can buy.

Whatever Hits Me - Chris dropped me an email from warm Alaska to tell me this is
2014, not 2013. It is difficult for me to keep up with such things as time.  I don't even
wear a watch. I go by the sun and the moon.
