Weather and Stream Conditions Forecast - Coming Week
The streams are still all a little high and falling rather slowly. The ground must be
quite saturated. Little River is flowing at 479 cfs and at a 2.68 ft. level, or at a level
it can be waded if one uses some extra caution.

Cataloochee Creek is flowing at 196 cfs and 2.96 height, or a little too high to
safely wade. Oconaluftee River is flowing at 859 cfs and 2.35 feet or too high to
wade safely. There is no rain in the forecast until Friday afternoon, so all the
streams should get down to safe wading levels in a couple of days.

It will be clear and sunny throughout the week. Today's high temperature at
Gatlinburg should reach 49 degrees. The low tonight will be around 31.
Tomorrow and Wednesday's temperatures should be about the same but a little
colder at night.

Thursday should be a little warmer, with a high of about 59 and a low that night of
40. Friday should be even warmer but there is a 40% chance of rain. Showers are
likely Friday night, and currently shown at 60%. That is another National Weather
Service long range forecast that will be increased. Saturday's chances are
increased to 70% but I will bet a wooden nickel that will be increased to a 100
percent by Saturday. I hate to act like I know more than the weather service but
I've been right about this same exact thing several other times. I guess they have a
good reason for it that I'm not aware of.

Saturday's high will be 66 degrees. Wow, that will feel like Spring. Unless the
rainfall is heavy, Saturday should be a good day to fish the streams of the park.
They show Sunday's chances of rain remaining at 70%.
