Weather and Stream Conditions Forecast - Coming Week
It looks like the leaves have reached their peak fall colors at our home in Pigeon
Forge. The mountains and hills surrounding us are beautiful. The higher
elevations in the park have already peaked. The roads have been jammed solid
with visitors for the past three weeks. I'm sure that will continue this week and on
into and through the busy holiday season.

It is going to be much warmer for the next several days with a chance of rain today
and again on Thursday and Friday. The rain is needed. Some of the streams have
fell below normal and normal this time of the year is low. In other words, they are
currently running very low.

Little River is flowing lower than normal at 72 cfs at 1.48 feet. Cataloochee Creek
is flowing about normal at 44 cfs at 2.25 feet. Oconaluftee River is flowing just
above normal at 208 cfs at 1.24 feet.

There is a 50 percent chance of showers today with a high near 65. The low
tonight will be around 47. Tuesday should be partially sunny with a high near 70
and a low of around 50.

Wednesday should be partly sunny with a high near 71 and a low around of
around 55. There is a slight chance of rain returning for Thursday with a high near
70. The forecast calls for a 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday
night.
.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely on Friday. The high will be near 69 with a
chance of precipitation of about 60%. The low Friday night should be around 45.

Saturday should be a little cooler, more normal fall weather with a high near 61
and a low of around 40. Sunday, should be sunny with a high near 60.
