Weather and Stream Conditions Forecast - Coming Week
I can't believe its time for another weather and stream conditions forecast. It seems like that is all I have written
about for the past couple of months. I also can't believe the forecast. Before looking, I would have guessed the
forecast for the next couple of weeks for the Smokies would not have included any rain. The Gulf of Mexico has
to be empty from scattering all of its water throughout the entire eastern United States. t has stayed cloudy and
raining for so long, my home grown tomatoes are going to rot without ever turning red.

Little River is currently flowing at 1440 cfs at 4.05 feet. That's a record for this date. The median flow is 121 cfs.
Oconaluftee River is at 2510 cfs and 3.93 feet., another record. Caloloochee Creek is at 437 cfs and 3.58, yet
another record.
The good news is they are all falling. The radar is currently clear to the west and south of
the park.

There's also some good news in the forecast, even though as you will see below, there's a good chance of rain
most days this coming week. The good news is, they leave out the word "showers", at least they do some of
the time, and include only thunderstorms. I think (and hope) that means they will mostly be isolated and only
certain watersheds will be affected. Hopefully, that will give some of the streams a chance to fall back down to
levels that are safe to wade and fish.

Today and tonight, there's a slight chance thunderstorms, otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. The
chances of precipitation is 30%. Tomorrow, there's a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high
near 84.

Wednesday, the odds of rain goes to 50 percent with a high forecast of near 85.
Wednesday Night A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69.

Thursday, Showers and thunderstorms are likely. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Dad Gone It, Dang It, XXX.

Friday, there's a 50 percent chance of not having any showers and thunderstorms. That sounds better,
doesn't it?

Saturday, there's a 70% percent chance of not having any showers and thunderstorms. Take that, National
Weather Service.

I guess I could say the outlook is better than it has been for the last couple of weeks. That's the best spin I can
put on the forecast.
