Weather and Stream Conditions Forecast - Coming Week - Magnificent,
Optimum, Superb, Splendiferous
If the weather and stream conditions for this coming week are as good as they were this past weekend on
the Tennessee side of the park, I think I will close down this website and head to the park. The North
Carolina side didn't fair so well. Heavy rains hurt some of the streams.
Excuse me. I guess I was just dreaming.
You would think anglers would purchase their flies, gear and equipment when the weather was terrible and
they couldn't fish. That way they would be prepared when conditions turned great. Wouldn't that be a
common sense approach?
Well, I guess I'm day dreaming again, because it obviously doesn't work that way at all. I suppose using
common sense isn't very popular when it comes to fishing. When the weather turns nice and everyone
should be out on the water, the great majority of them are at home on their telephones and computers
ordering flies, gear and equipment getting ready to go fishing. Apparently, it takes a spell of nice weather to
wake them up.
Hear ye, Hear ye: If the weather and stream conditions get any better, all you will need to do is to purchase
one of those antique bamboo creels at eBay, open the lid (put one of our Perfect Flies in it) and just walk
down the bank of any stream in the park. The trout will jump right in, big ones first, and then the little ones.
There has to be something wrong with the extended forecast. It is too good to be true. There's
only a very slight chance of showers and thunderstorms until about Wednesday. They show a 60% chance
of precipitation at that time but the odds fall right back down to 20% again. We had a few showers this past
weekend and all that did was wake the aquatic insects up and turn the trout on. The cloud cover was
excellent all weekend.
The weather forecast just seems to just repeat itself everyday this week and through the weekend. There's a
20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 63 and a high
around 82. Etc, etc. all week and all weekend.
If you have to take a bath to go to work, quit your job and go fishing.
If you have to take a bath after you get off work, quit your job and go fishing.
Let the illegal immigrants do all the work and make all the decisions to run the country. That would improve
things. We won't need an IRS, well, except to decide who lives and who dies under the health care law. The
only thing wrong with my plan is It won't take the illegals long to see they made a bad decision by working
and next thing we know, they too will be fishing.
It's not a bad way to go. You will be able to get food stamps. If you get sick or injured, you will be covered by
Obama Care free of charge.
To heck with common sense. Two-thirds of the World is covered with water. Why work?
