Smoky Mountains Fishing Report
I have not been fishing within the past seven days in the park or anywhere else, for that matter. We have
either had lots of rain (six to eight inches in a few days) or very cold weather during the past several days.
The low night before last in Gatlinburg was 21 degrees.

I did receive one and only one fly fishing report for the Smokies.
Hello from a loyal website reader and fellow fishing addict
Hey, my name is Mike S. from Knoxville, I am an avid fly fisher and tier. I was in the park on the lower stretch
of Greenbriar on Monday. It was around 2:00-3:00 pm. I saw some little rusty brown caddis # 16 or 18 coming
off very sporadically for about an hour or a little longer. I was on a PTN, switched to a caddis larva. The water
was still a little fast, so the presentation wasn't great, switched to a Rusty Caddis Emerger and got a nice and
fat 9" rainbow (no photo, was to scared I was gonna drop it in the drink) that was the only fish that I caught.
But a XXX-of-a way to spend the afternoon.

I just found this email link, i will email you more now that i have it. I go to the park or the Clinch at least once a
week usually two or three times if my schedule allows. I would love to correspond and give you an accurate
report of my days fishing
(I will exclude the fisherman's tall tails and save that for the bars. lol)

Thank You, and please keep up the fabulous work on the web. I read and enjoy it everyday. It means a lot to
see other people who love the Smokies and the fish and wildlife as much as I do

Thank you for your email Mike S. If I remember correctly, the streams were rolling good Monday as of a week
ago when you hooked up with the 9 inch trout. You get an A for going and an A plus for catching. The only
thing I dislike about your report is this:
How do you expect me to be able to compete with the fishing
reports from fly shops, and the many fishing blogs and online forums if you exclude the tall tales,
saving them for the bars?
That puts our fishing report at a huge disadvantage to everyone's, including the
bars. It just isn't right that anglers have to get loaded just to come up with a good fishing report Mike. I know
guys that can do that sober without even going fishing.

Thank you for your interest, report and good luck to you Mike.

Added Bonus:
Since the fishing report is the one and only one, I will dedicate the first video clip to Mike S. for his strong love
of the sport. Also, since Angie may eventually discover the video I posted in yesterday's article, I will post
another one showing her catching a trout and releasing it the right way on the Lamar River. It's near the end
of this short promo.
